Atlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson had a mixed bag of results in a National League Championship Series loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. In Monday’s matchup with former Vanderbilt roommate Walker Buehler, Swanson struck out and walked in two at bats. The rest of Swanson’s series was relatively quiet minus an RBI double in Tuesday and Thursday’s games, a three hit day in Saturday’s game (all three hits were off Buehler) and a solo home run in Sunday’s game seven loss. For the postseason, Swanson, recorded a .267 average with three home runs and nine RBIs. Swanson and the Braves will now turn their attention to 2021 where they will look to get over the NLCS hump and to the Fall Classic and Swanson will look to build on a breakout season both offensively and defensively.

Los Angeles Dodgers ace pitcher Walker Buehler made two starts during the Dodgers 4-3 series victory over the Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series. In Monday’s game one loss, Buehler threw five innings of three hit one run baseball with five walks and seven strikeouts in a no decision. The only blemish was a first inning home run allowed to likely National League MVP Freddie Freeman. Buehler took the ball again in a must win game 6 for the Dodgers on Saturday. In that game Buehler and the Dodgers picked up the W to force a game seven, with the former going six innings of seven hit shutout baseball with no walks and six punch outs. The Dodgers were able to rally from being down 3-1 in the series and picked up the victory in game seven. Buehler will take the ball in game one of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday.

Kyle Wright saw his run of dominance come to an end in Wednesday’s game three start against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Wright only lasted two thirds of the first inning after giving up seven runs on five hits in a game that the Braves would go on to lose 15-3 with Wright taking the loss. The Braves would go on to lose the National League Championship Series to the Dodgers 4-3. Wright will look to lock down a spot in Atlanta’s rotation heading into the 2021 campaign.
