Summarizing what Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said this week:
- Excited to play them, didn't get to last year because of COVID cancellation
- Early start will be different for them
- Says JT Daniels showed he was healthy enough to play and played with enough efficiency last week
- Concerned with amount of deep balls being completed against their defense
- Team is up and down in terms of accountability and developing leaders, always working on that
On Vandy:
- Says Clark Lea has done a tremendous job, he's an alumni of the school and takes a lot of pride in that just like he does
- Been successful in his career, trying to build a culture to win in the SEC
- Always a tough, physical game when they face Vanderbilt
- Don't get into measuring themselves against an opponent, they measure themselves against themselves
OTHER NOTES:
- Tight end Darnell Washington and defensive back Tykee Smith could see their first action against Vanderbilt, both had metatarsal surgery two weeks before the season opener.
- WR Arian Smith is expected to play
- WR Dominick Blaylock remains questionable heading into this weekend with a hamstring issue
- WR Kearis Jackson still not a 100%, but very close, played last week
- Backup LB Rian Davis is out for the year after undergoing quad surgery
- Will Muschamp is an analyst on Kirby Smart's staff currently
